Al Gore had an extremely upbeat piece in the NY Times the other day. He's thinks we're now poised to start making real progress on the climate emergency. I certainly relish his enthusiasm, though it can be a bit surprising too, as Bill McKibben and others strike a more somber tone. Don't miss his article, as he brings all the strands together: the dramatic drop in price of renewables, the growing turn away from investment in fossil fuels, and the emergence of a climate crisis youth movement.
Biden's appointments to Interior and the EPA this week have only added to the momentum. It does seem as if the president-elect has a clear, profound sense of the crisis, and is determined to take major steps.
