Gold Creek Ecological Reserve is our district’s 240-acre teaching site in the San Gabriel Mountains. It is used by instructors throughout the district for field trips and professional development.
Annual Gold Creek Open House Saturday, April 25
Gold Creek is located in the San Gabriel Mountains (near Sylmar and the 210 Freeway).
For our Open House, we invite faculty, staff, and their families to enjoy an onsite program.
Our approximate schedule for the event is as follows:
- 8:00 AM Bird walk and registration
- 9:00 & 10:00 AM Collection displays, trail tours, science exhibits
- 11:00 AM LUNCH (POTLUCK) The Gold Creek committee will be grilling veggie burgers. Please bring a side/salad/dessert to share
- 12 Noon Guest Speaker Historian Brian Walsh
- 1:00 PM Trail tours (weather and time permitting)
-Faculty, Staff, and their families are welcome at this event.
-There will be nature activities for children!
